Chief Justice and head of the Supreme Court Traveled to Helmand Province

During his visit, His Excellency met with the head of the Appellate Court of Helmand Alhaj Mowlawi Mohammad “Mohammadi; Governor of Helmand Mowlawi Abdulrahman “Kanduzi”; Deputy Governor Alhaj Mowlawi Mohammad Nabi “Hamas”; heads of primary courts, judges, muftis, judicial clerks, Ulema Council, and senior officials from intelligence, Amr-e-Belmarof and Complaints Department, and the Police Command.
Alhaj Mowlawi Mohammad “Mohammadi”, head of the Appellate Court of Helmand, welcomed the Chief Justice on behalf of the entire judicial staff. He briefed His Excellency on the performance of the judiciary in the province, the condition of detainees in the central prison, and the ongoing coordination between judicial institutions and local government authorities.
Following that, the Honorable Chief Justice and Head of the Supreme Court addressed the court officials, instructing them to treat clients with respect, maintain coordination with other Emirate institutions, and ensure that the appellate courts do not easily overturn the decisions of primary courts. He emphasized that efforts should be made to uphold and confirm judicial decisions.
Similarly, Honorable Sheikh Abdul Hakim Haqqani stated that if an accused person is brought in by military personnel, a thorough investigation must be conducted. Complete information about the accused should also be obtained from the relevant military official. Detainees should not be released before the investigation is completed; and if the individual is found innocent, a judicial ruling should be issued accordingly.
In addition, the Chief Justice and Head of the Supreme Court provided essential recommendations to the participants of the meeting regarding strengthening justice, following up on legal cases, ensuring the rule of law, and several other important matters.
Subsequently, the head of the appellate court sought guidance from the Honorable Chief Justice on a number of issues and legal cases, and Sheikh Sahib provided the necessary directives.
Officials from the Emirate institutions pledged full cooperation with the courts in accordance with established principles.
