Correspondence Department

Correspondence Department performs a number of critical duties under the supervision of Chief Justice and Head of the Supreme Court as listed below:

  • Officially imparts orders of Head of the Supreme Court to all courts and relevant agencies, follows up with implementation of the orders and promotes cooperation between units
  • Recommends necessary actions to Head of the Supreme Court for betterment of routine affairs
  • Receives petitions and complaints of litigants about change of court, appeal, request for clarification etc. and forwards them to concerned entities as per the instruction of Head of the Supreme Court
  • Processes formal letters from Office of Administrative Affairs and Council of Ministers’ Secretariat, Office of Minister of State in Parliamentary Affairs, and Complaints Hearing Commission as per the instruction of Head of the Supreme Court
  • Schedules meetings of petitioners with Head of the Supreme Court
  • Processes letters received from national security council, national department of security, Office of Administrative Affairs and Council of Ministers’ Secretariat, Complaints Hearing Commission, Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission, High Office of Oversight and Anti Corruption and other government entities
  • Lead and supervise subordinate units in furthering their routine duties; and Adopt appropriate decisions within its scope of authority.
